Prior to 1989, Peter spent 20 years employed by The Borough Engineer of Macclesfield Borough Council, where he was involved in all aspects of sewerage, private drainage and land drainage on behalf of the Planning and Development authority for projects in both public and private sectors, including appearances at Planning Appeal Inquiries.
Peter worked for The City Engineer of Manchester City Council from 1969 to 1989, where he was responsible for preparing development sites on public housing projects.
Before 1966 Peter was employed by British Rail as an assistant engineer.
Peter was admitted as an Associate Member of The Institution of Civil Engineers in 1966.
